Guangzhou Riverside International Youth Hostel  is  quite a nice place to stay, as mentionned in Let's Go China 's current Edition - the place isn't mentionned  at the moment  in other Travel guides like Lonely Planet China's current edition.
The prices are a little bit higher than mentionned :
dorms : 60 Yuan (Member : 50)
single : from 128 Yuan (Member : 108)
but that doesn't make a big difference. Staff is very helpful. They actually try their best in every situation.

The address is Changdi Street 15, Luju Road, Fangcun District, Guangzhou - and not what is mentionned in Let's Go, which is in an other area of Guangzhou.
It is hard to find, for taxi drivers too - they don't know this street -, thus, print the attached map (the chinese one) before you go. This street also is called "Bar Street"   (see Photo )

Flying from  Chongking to Guangzhou with Sichuan Airlines  won't cost you  Y180, as mentionned in Let's Go current edition, but Y1450, which makes quite a big difference, especially for "budget travellers"...(spelling mistake ?)

I traveled extensively around China and was looking for the best guide, never found the perfect one, lol, but after studying very carefully all the existing guides about Hong Kong and China, I came to the conclusion that Let's Go China
was the best one..., or at least the most useful....

Yet, I had a big deception  yesterday while finding a  big mistake  about  a place in the Guangzhou chapter...The   address was false and it just became evident that Let's Go team never went to this place..., in so far it was a big deception. Indeed, it means, the given information isn't just outdated, but also has never been accurate.
On this website, you will find extensive critical comments and updates to avoid you this kind of deception and losses of time and money...

Yet, otherwise, the guide was useful.

Our comments and updates to the current edition

Update

As Let's Go China hasn't been updated for a few years now, we started to use it in complement with the Lonely Planet China SouthWest which featured great improvement compared to the Lonely Planet China. In May 2009, the new Lonely Planet China has been released and there are great improvements and much more places covered. So, if you buy only one, buy this one !
