"It is our turn to make a difference. On 28 March 2009, Hong Kong, will be joining Beijing and Shanghai to make history by joining Earth Hour, turning off the lights for one hour from 8:30pm to 9:30pm.
It will be a time when Hong Kong joins other cities around the globe to turn our city dark, and for Hong Kong people to think about how we can change our lifestyles to reduce our impact on the environment, It will be a time when we rejoice and celebrate our determination to save our planet; it will be a time when we encourage our families, friends and colleagues to take actions on climate change.
We can make a big difference with one simple action. So gear up for what will be the biggest and most important Earth Hour of our planet's history. Join us for Earth Hour 2009, and turn off your lights at 8:30pm on Saturday, 28 March for a brighter future. We will see hope in darkness"
