Ever heard about "Doulos"?
The Doulos story is far from a common one.
The crew is made of volunteers who devote themselves to God and "serve" onboard for a
determined period of time. They are God and Doulos servants (it is what the Greek word "doulos" means)
They come from all over the world and those who want to join may board at different
points of the planet.
Translate it into Hong Kong culture: it is advertised as part of your Ocean Terminal
Shopping Experience.
Then your Doulos entry ticket give you access
to some - great...- shopping privileges...
Even the more reluctant to Christian Faith may find the visit worth, as the Book Fair
has a Business books section and offers quite attractive prices.
It attracts some visitors, less than the nearby Microsoft X-Box demo area
yet!
They will host an "International Night" on Friday 26th (of June)
night : if you want to feel the atmosphere and meet some of the
crew members, it may be the right time to go. Anyway, with such an international mixture it should be a lot of fun, even for the more reluctant !
Otherwise, the boat will stay at Ocean Terminal
(Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui) till July 4. It is very easy to get there from the Star Ferry Terminal.
opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday : 10am – 9pm
Sunday to Monday : 2pm – 9pm
22nd June, Monday : 10am – 9pm
4th July, Saturday : 10am – 9pm
Ocean Terminal, Harbour City, Tsim Sha
Tsui”
You may buy your entry ticket (HKD 10 for visiting, HKD 30 for the International
Night) either directly in front of the boat,
For events, you may alternatively buy your ticket at YMCA - 41, Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon or at the Methodist Bookshop - Basement, 22 Hennessy Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong.
